Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account we store your email address, display name, and optional profile details (bio, age, neighborhood, profile photo). When you use the app we collect your approximate location (latitude/longitude) to show nearby events.

2. How we use it

• Display events near you on the map
• Show your profile to other users
• Send push notifications you opt into (join requests, messages, etc.)
• Improve the app and fix bugs

3. Infrastructure

Pal runs on Supabase (database and authentication, hosted on AWS us-east-1) and Expo (push notification delivery). Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by Supabase. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.

4. Location data

We request location permission to display nearby events. Your last known coordinates are stored so the app can load relevant content on launch. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings—the app will still work but cannot show nearby events.

5. Data retention

Events are automatically deleted 24 hours after their start time. Your account data is retained until you request deletion.

6. Account deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing support@getpal.xyz. Deletion is permanent and processed within 48 hours.

7. Children

Pal is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email.
